Joseph P. Quinn, Jr. left private practice to pursue full time employment with the State of Connecticut in January 2004. He served form many years as Chief Legal Counsel for the Senate Democrats and has now retired. He remains of counsel to Quinn & Quinn, LLC. Attorney Quinn was in private practice in Hartford for over 20 years as a Partner at Furniss & Quinn, P.C., where he focused on general litigation, criminal defense, real estate, family matters, social security, probate and corporate matters, with a particular emphasis on personal injury and workers' compensation.

My Story
From 1986 until commencing his full time position, Attorney Quinn served as Co-counsel to the Connecticut State Senate Democratic Caucus, and was a member of the Connecticut Law Revision Commission through 1994. In 1999, he was appointed to the State Marshall Commission by the Honorable Kevin B. Sullivan, President Pro Tempore of the State Senate. He served as a hearing officer at the commission until 2011. He was appointed to the Judicial Selection Commission in February of 2011, and completed his term in April 2014. He worked to provide legal services to indigent and disadvantaged citizens through his efforts with the former Pro Bono Referral Project, as a member of the Hartford County Bar Association Lawyer Referral Panel, and as a Juvenile Court Panel Attorney. Attorney Quinn tried several civil cases in Superior Court to verdict before juries or the Court, argued cases before the Appellate Court, completed over thirty formal hearings before the Workers' Compensation Commission, and argued several appeals before the Compensation Review Board.

Attorney Quinn is a 1971 graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and a 1981 graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law.
